Our Story

Justin was raised in Eastern Washington and is the oldest of four siblings.  He loved helping his grandpa and uncles on the farm outside of Hartline and started working summers for them in high school.  After graduating in 1997 with a Diesel/Heavy Equipment degree, he worked full-time on the farm making hay and helping with cows, until 2005 when he left and became a mechanic at the John Deere dealership.

I (Kristi) grew up on a dryland farm in North Central Montana. I am the youngest of three girls.  In 2007, I met Justin on eHarmony and moved to Washington with my three daughters.  After we were married in 2008, Justin adopted the girls and we have added a son and another daughter.

Justin left John Deere in 2010 and began farming his 2nd cousins’ irrigated land, raising Alfalfa and Timothy Hay.

In 2013, he had the opportunity to take over his uncle’s cattle herd and has built it from 50 to 150 cow/calf pairs.

In 2021, the land he was farming was sold and Justin had a decision to make.  Go back to John Deere and mechanic again?  Sell all the cows and find a different job?  He has always had a love and a gift with cows and he just couldn’t bring himself to get out.  And the thought of being back in a job was not the avenue he was interested in pursuing.

In the summer of 2022, we had our first steer made into ground beef to see if there was a need for grass finished beef.  The response has been amazing.  Our meat has now been enjoyed by hundreds of customers in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon and California.

In 2024, in addition to the cows, he started raising pigs and chickens, and also dryland farming with his cousin.

Justin is a fourth generation farmer/rancher and is utilizing land that has been in the family for over 100 years. He takes this responsibility seriously and hopes to provide an opportunity for future generations.
