Our Story
I was raised in Eastern Washington. I am the oldest with one brother and two sisters. My Dad was a pastor and when I was in 5th grade, we moved back to where my Mom grew up. I loved going out to where my grandpa and uncles farmed and ranched. I started working summers for them and after graduating from college in the Diesel/Heavy Equipment program, I came back to the farm full time where I made hay in the summer and helped take care of the cows in the winter. In 2005, I went to work at the John Deere dealership as a mechanic.
In 2007, I met Kristi on eHarmony. She grew up in North Central Montana on a dry land farm. She is the youngest of 3 girls. She moved out to WA with her three daughters. We were married in 2008 and shortly thereafter I adopted her girls. Before long our family of five became a family of seven.
Kristi and I, with our 5 children, had the opportunity to start farming in 2010 on my cousins' irrigated farm. We started out raising export Alfalfa and Timothy hay and eventually focused on export Timothy. I always enjoyed raising livestock dating back to junior high 4H where I started with sheep and then moved to showing steers. I had a few cows with my brother in high school and had them through college. In 2013 I took over my Uncle's herd and have built it from about 50 to our current 150 calving cows.
In 2021, events occurred that encouraged the transition to where we currently are no longer making export hay, but are solely focused on raising cattle.
We are excited to see where this will take us and are enjoying the new challenges of developing genetics for a grass finished herd.
